The debut of the medieval rock album "Weckt die Toten” was produced in just twelve days on a very small budget. Nevertheless it set off an avalanche for In Extremo. Most of the songs have a medieval origin.

In Extremo's latest work had already ì been celebrated by many colleagues ì before I listened to them for the first ì time. The more I was curious before ì finally listening to "Weckt die Toten!".ì And really, they didn't lie, "Weckt die ì Toten!" is an LP that's stirring.ì Such a catchy mix of metal and folkì I have never listened to before - and if you ì think about the fact that this is theirì debut you can probably look forward to ì further deeds of this unusual combo.ì Medieval songs are presented with ì original lyrics. The music of courseì is keeping with the times with fat riffs ì and powerdrumming. The ì bagpipes and flutes don't bother either, ì but give the music of the Berlin combo ì an unique touch, I'd even go as far as saying that the guys are capable ofì starting a musical revolution.ì In Extremo are supposed to be a great ì liveact. They certainly are the most interesting and unusual newcomer of the ì year.
