Anyone who likes Pearl Jam, Tribe After Tribe, Sublime or Dave Matthews Band, experiences a manifestation: State Radio is the new formation of Chad Stokes (ex-Dispatch), who mixes Reggae with Ska, Punk, Alternative and biting political texts.

    Fall of the American empire

by Marcel Anders (23.01.2008) In the U.S., Chad "Chetro" Stokes is known all over the place: a professional anarchist with a 70s-porn-beard who used to front the independent cult band, Dispatch, and with his new band, State Radio, is on his way to become a left-winged Rock institution. The trio not only presents a self-willed style-mix of Punk, Reggae, Ska and Alternative Rock (that reminds me of Pearl Jam, Sublime, Dave Matthews and Tribe After Tribe), but also convinces by the edgy, political lyrics dealing with everything that goes wrong in Bush county: from Guantanamo via the Iraque war, the process against the West Memphis Three, the CIA-intrigues, the discrimination of the Indian citizens, the growing ravines between poor and rich to the progressing environmental destruction. Culminating in the 11-minute "Fall of the American Empire", this album leaves you speechless for (whatever your taste is) sheer enthusiasm or complete lack of understanding. Because: you cannot be more radical, franker and more honest.
