British rockers Motörhead redefined rock and roll, merging sounds from punk, hard rock, rock and roll, blues rock and heavy metal to establish their own identity, embraced by fans across all genres. Which explains how they sold over 15 million albums worldwide.

Motörhead first formed in 1975, with the original line-up being made up of bassist, singer, and songwriter Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister (who would go on to be the lone constant member through all iterations of the band), guitarist Larry Wallis and drummer Lucas Fox. Motörhead released 22 studio albums, 10 live recordings, 12 compilation albums, and five EPs over a career spanning 40 years. Their most commercially successful period came in the early 80s, when albums like Overkill, Ace of Spaces and No Sleep ‘til Hammersmith lit up the charts and earned spots in rock and roll history.

Nearly most rock and metal fans will agree that, regardless of which Motorhead era they preferred, the one constant was Lemmy. Lemmy’s reputation as a rock pioneer is undeniable. The man WAS rock and roll. So much so that after his death in 2015, a JD and coke was rebranded the Lemmy in his honour.

With forty years under his belt as lead singer and bassist of Motörhead, Lemmy made a name for himself and was in very high demand for collaborations. Lemmy worked with many artists, including Doro, The Ramones, Slash and Airbourne, although Probot was one of the most well-known albums Lemmy was involved in. It was a heavy metal side project put together by Foo Fighters' lead singer Dave Grohl.
