We Are Motörhead - Buy Motörhead albums online in the EMP shop

Anyone that was immersed in the early days of heavy metal or heavy metal music from the 1980s will not be able to get around Motörhead. The band, founded in 1975, not only had a strong influence on the heavy metal genre itself, but also on many other bands of this and later periods.

Motörhead's music is characterised by style elements from heavy metal, punk, hard rock and blues rock. What was particularly noticeable was that the electric bass played a major role in Motörhead and replaced the rhythm guitar. Compared to other bands (e.g. AC / DC) Motörhead were significantly more bass-heavy. They were seen as the link between heavy metal and punk.

After 40 years at the top, The band broke up in December 2015 after the death of Lemmy Kilmister. They played their last live concert on December 11, 2015 in Berlin.
