by Antonia Sawade (April 2004) "Eternal life" has always been the predominant topic of the works of Germany's hottest Gothic band Blutengel. The Berlin-based band comes back with their new album "Demon Kiss" and I get three songs for the review, which does bear a certain humour, don't you think? I am not really sure if 3 songs are representative for a whole album.anyway, "Forever" and "Angel Of The Dark" are not too bad as precursors. Both tracks will surely flood the Gothic dancefloors of the world. Probably the doors to commercial success have been opened by the start-finish victory of Oomph. Already on "Angel Dust" Blutengel have proven to be a band for the charts. The third song "Resurrection" shows the darker side of the band. The Pop elements make room for the darker side of the music and the whole song goes back to the roots of the band. If the rest of the album is on the same level as these 3 extracts I dare to say we are at the dawn of a really great album! But only if... (Antonia Sawade - April 2004)
