by Samuele Rudelli (14.07.2007) The marriage with fetish-model, Dita von Teese made Mr. Manson a tamed, little dog who completely neglected his fans and his music. Logical consequence: an almost four-years break, a bad popularity decrease and a big midlife crisis. All that seems now compensated with the surprising split of Dita as well as great comeback album reviving the Shock-Rocker of the old days with new life. "Eat me, drink me" presents morbid soundscapes, heavy Industrial and frank lyrics in which the 38-year old Manson either counts off with his ex or devotes with relish to his new girlfriend, the only 19-years-old actress, Evan Rachel Wood. She is also the reason for the Lolita motive in "Heart-shaped glasses", the only real Pop song on the album. The rest is sad, beautiful Horror Rock making "Eat me, drink me" the best Manson-album since "Mechanical animals" (1998) – and a sure guarantee for a dirty divorce of the Hollywood kind. Remember: too exciting women bring nothing but trouble.
