The two ex-Megaherz guys Alexx Wesselsky and Noel Pix go on at about where Megaherz left off (yet, unfortunately without a singer) with "Herzwerk II": edgy Electronica Metal with intelligent lyrics and often provoking contents. Genuine, bass-oriented Electronica doesn't contradict itself with other elements on "Eisbrecher" but contributes to danceable, catchy tracks with depth and warmth added by Alexx' great voice. Tracks like "Polarstern" are so atmospherically tight that you can almost see the ship between the sheets of ice - beauty and disaster can be so close together. When - as in "Angst?" or "Fanatica" - the electronics gain more power further drifts towards EBM (even more than Megaherz) and becomes even more danceable. But not without a twinkling of the eye. The "Fanatica-Clubmix" brings you pure disco(!) pleasure. The double digi-pack provides 16 tracks for you plus a bonus DVD - what else could you be asking for? (Sonja Angerer - 04/01)
