by Jürgen Tschamler (04.01.2008) A few years ago, it looked as if Paradox would have to give up due to permanent line-up problems. Now, bandleader Charly Steinhauer has gathered a strong team again and recorded a new album. "Electrify" contains ten songs that intensively reflect the trademarks of the band. Of course, it shouldn't be neglected that there are some years between the comeback album and this new release but considering that, the new album sounds very fresh and refreshing. Paradox anno 2008 stand for an energetic mix of old school Speed/Thrash Metal-elements with the speed-elements clearly dominating. Once celebrated as the German answer to Metallica, there is still some resemblance that you would't want to deny. There are plenty of speed-killers without cliche feeling on the album, such as the heavy weights, "Monument", "Portrait in grey", "Infected" and "Cyperspace romance". Having said all that, I have to mention that all the songs surprise with slight, melodic parts, too. Having arrived in 2008, Paradox is still a true enrichment for the Metal-genre.
