by Markus Eck (03/10) A new, high remunerated three piece band from Florida - Trivium. Their both raw sounding but well structured sound is composed of ì elements of Swedish melodic death metal, old school heavy and power metal as ì well as emotional metal core plus some slight new metal ingredients resulting in ì a highly explosive mixture. That sounds a bit as if In Flames, Shadows Fall, ì Arch Enemy, At The Gates and Megadeth would have a creative get-together. And ì although Trivium serve many genres, the result is a creation of it's own - and a good one too! The music pulses with a heavy heart beat and can definitely stand on its own. Edgy, rhythmically sharp and always precise drumming as well as wild riffing are but two Trumps by these inspired innovators. Also vocally, this trio has it's strengths: powerful roaring may dominate but often goes together with clear, harmonic vocal parts. Excellent! (Markus Eck - 03/10)
