by Olaf Plotke (20.03.2007) A new Helloween album with Michael Kiske? No, Emerald Sun only sound a lot like the German Melodic Power Metal-pioneers. But that's ok if you ask me. Because their debut album, "Escape from twilight" absolutely thrilled me and made me a fan. They did everything right: blasting riffs, catchy melodies, anthemnic choruses, and a fantastic voice. A pleasure for your ears. Just listen to "Scream out loud" - this song has everything a classic needs. Or the epic, "The story begins" - Blind Guardian couldn't be more majestic. I would wish for more bands like Emerald Sun. They keep up the tradition and still manage to bring in their own style. "Escape from Twilight" is 50 plus minutes of exceptional music for fans of traditional Melodic Power Metal.
