by Lisa Hofer (20.01.2006) For many years, it was silent around the guys, now they return with the single “Fly“ and surprise with a brilliant mixture. The roots of the band come up brightly: fast and powerful passages will delight all fans from the early days. Yet, this is added by the immanent progression that becomes visible by modern, sometimes even progressive parts putting Hansi Kürsch's vocals back into the centre again. The composition of “Fly” is very skilful and gets the listener with all its might chasing showers down his spine - this song is a state-of-the-art goose-flesh track. Also the calm song, “Skalds and shadows“ enchants with its acoustic side to it presenting the guardians from their emotional side in best “The bard's song“-manner. The extraordinary single closes with the cover song: the Iron Butterfly hit “In a gadda da vida“ in an unmistakable Krefelder Speed Metal version.
