by Heiner Salomon (29.09.2007) After the band around singer and guitarist, Kai Hansen delivered a very raw and gloomy album with the 2005 "Majestic" release providing some completely new facets of the formation, this finally is the long awaited successor of the 1995-masterpiece, "Land of the free". Prior to the release of "Land of the free β Part II", the band signed with the label, Steamhammer, who will have a great time with the album. Gamma ray deliver an awesome album, unbelievably variable and representing a more than worthy continuation. With "Hear me calling" and "To mother earth", the album features very bombastic songs with great melodies, while "Rain" and "From the ashes" are very fast and straight. Heart of the album is "Insurrection" incorporating all qualities of the band and standing on one level with the earlier work of genius, "Rebellion in dreamland". After the 65 minutes, it is clear that with "Land of the free β Part II", Gamma Ray recorded one of the best albums in their career that at no point disappoints.
