In contrast to Chris Reifert, the Incantation-head, John Mc Entee has enough breath to harvest the applause for being the reference icon by its lifetime. Already since the early demo days the name stands for destructively brutal Death Metal always enriched by mercilessly heavy Doom passages. This recipe has deliberately and enthusiastically been kept all the way through for seven records now, well aware of the fact that Incantation will never be the darlings of the masses. Current example: the "Hailed Babylon"-break. Hail to the murderer bass! Their nature is nasty and brute also if the technical level after dozens of line up changes is on a historical high. In contrast to Suffocation, who in the early 90s was equally disdained as incompetent stray bullets, Incantation never attached importance to highly complicated arrangements. Pleasant, how experienced John does the best of his situation and intones his lyrics as if he's always been a gifted Death growler.
