"Senjutsu" CD by Iron Maiden

Appearing in a Limited Edition as a limited box set edition, including the 'Senjutsu' double CD, 'The writing on the wall' bonus Blu-ray, five art prints, and a poster.

Parlophone Records proudly announces the release of IRON MAIDEN's 17th studio album, 'Senjutsu,' on September 3rd, their first in 6 years. It was recorded in Paris with long-time producer Kevin Shirley and co-produced by Steve Harris. For 'Senjutsu' - freely d as 'Tactics and Strategy' - the band once again enlisted the services of Mark Wilkinson to create the spectacular Samurai-themed cover artwork based on an idea by Steve Harris. With a running time of just under 82 minutes, 'Senjutsu,' like its predecessor 'The Book Of Souls,' will be a double CD/triple Vinyl album.

Steve says: 'We decided to record again at Guillaume Tell Studio in France because this place just has such a relaxed vibe. The setup there is perfect for us; the building used to be a cinema and has a very high ceiling, which gives a fantastic acoustic sound. We recorded this album the same way we did 'The Book Of Souls,' namely by writing a song, practicing it, and then recording it together while everything is still fresh in our minds. This album has some very complex songs that demanded a lot of hard work to get the sound we wanted, so the process was sometimes quite challenging, but Kevin is very good at capturing the essence of the band, and I think it was worth the effort! I'm very proud of the result and can't wait for the fans to hear it.'

Lead singer Bruce Dickinson adds: 'We're all really excited about this album. We recorded it in early 2019 during a break in the Legacy Tour to have as much time as possible to Tour and still have a long lead-up to the release to prepare good artwork and something special for the video. Of course, the pandemic further delayed things - so much for plans in advance, or should I say 'strategies'!? The songs are very diverse, and some of them are quite long. There are also one or two songs that deviate quite a bit from our usual style, and I think Maiden fans will be surprised - hopefully in a positive way!'
