Consequently, in case of Lordi all signs stand for storm now for “The arockalypse“ is by the far the best opus of the Finnish monster rockers. Melodic heavy metal of the exceptional kind that leads you back to the 80s when acts like Mötley Crüe, Kiss and Alice Cooper kept the fire burning and were highly successful. The intro, “SC63 special report“ spoken by Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) introduces this work of art before one hit is chased by the next. Kiss-guitarist, Bruce Kulick guests on “It snows in hell“ while Jay Jay French (Twisted Sister) contributes a great solo in “Chainsaw buffet“. Furthermore, Udo Dirkschneider is featured for a great duet with frontman Lordi in “They only come out at night“ providing quite some goose flesh moments. “Good to be bad“ surprises with very dominant Europe-keyboards before the killer song, “Supermonstars“ closes this very convincing album.
