by Andreas Reissnauer (05/02) Finally, will many fans think, the new album by Sentenced. I also was really looking forward to this new album and I wasn't disappointed! The Finns manage again to convince with unmistakable Dark Metal songs without exaggerated theatrical attitudes or pathos. The Guys from Oulu rather present fine guitar melodies and higher mid-tempo, carried by the melodic, raw and sad vocals by Ville. So nothing new by Sentenced? Indeed, the quintet follows the way it has taken before on their last three albums, "Down", "Frozen" and "Crimson". Lack of progression? Conflicting because also if the band hasn't changed musically, they still tried to permanently write better songs. On the other side, the one or other musical surprise wouldn't have harmed the album, would it? But you won't find them on "Cold white light", so this is another typical Sentenced album, that can be called a bit better than the predecessor.
