Two years after their mighty concept album “Carpathia — A Dramatic Poem” The Vision Bleak came back in 2007 with “The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey”, and they were better and more diversified than before. To reach the best possible outcome, Ulf Theodor Schwadorf and Allen B. Konstanz have intensively worked on their third studio album for over six months, the title was borrowed from “Carpathia”’s song text. Ulf Theodor Schwadorf tried to summarise the album’s message: “The metallic part - the guitar riffs - by The Vision Bleak are definitely stronger on ‘The Wolves Go Hunt Their Prey. But there are still bombastic orchestra parts, acoustic guitars, sitars and a lot of atmospheric nuances in all songs.” Once again, a plus by The Vision Bleak? Definitely, but this time a bit more subtle. Some songs on the album are definitely a few of the toughest pieces they have ever written, but also their most atmospheric and compelling songs. “The Demon Of The Mire” shows the Franconian duo’s death metal roots, “The Black Pharaoh Triology” involuntarily reminds one of the epic range of the preceding album and “By Our Brotherhood With Seth” does have the potential to become The Vision Bleak’s new band hymn, with its catchy character. So, the wolves are definitely prepared for their foray, starting at the 31st August…

If it wouldn’t be for the new, permanently sawing guitar riffs that should easily please all Cradle Of Filth-fans. Here, "Six" is still "Thy number", as it can be read in the personal credo, "By our brotherhood with seth", also if Allen B. Konstanz’s vocals never leave the threatening baritone. Some screaming here and lots of chorus there provide the right Gothic ornaments in these stringent, epic midtempo songs. The Vision Bleak take their time for variable intros leading your fantasy into the right direction; so the "Black Pharao"-trilogy begins with almost 4 minutes of introduction of the Serail and the world of 1001 Nights. The duo may have musically dug deeper in the dirt in the past and delivered the heaviest album ever but their incurable, romantic side just cannot be hidden – and that is good!
