by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (15.05.2009) "War without end" has "aged" well (if you want to call a 2008 release "old", that is) in the competition against all the other Thrash youngsters like Evile, Gamma Bomb etc., who weren't even born when their heroes were conjuring up their first mosh pits. Since then, Warbringer have made a lot of friends, among them Gary Holt of Exodus, one of the genre legends still around. Bill Metoyer, a scene veteran, has produced the new album. Holt is still an active musician (in his third spring), so of course, the blokes didn't want to fail their idol - under his wings, they have delivered a high energy output with killer riffs and venomous vocals. Even the solo work has improved remarkably, now being not only mere shred-fests, but short compositions within a song. Instead of just stepping on it, they overwhelm you with straight Hardcore grooves and chorus shouts. Warbringer would have held their own, even in the 80s - they often remind me of Evildead and Demolition Hammer.
