Gothic Punk

Actually, all music genres are more or less related to ounk. But some are very special, for example gothic punk, which probably first appeared on stage with the band The Damned - and that even back in the late 70s. Musically punk, visually gothic - perhaps that's how you could describe the mixture. Singer Dave Vanian led the way and many followed. However, the boundaries to gothic rock, death rock, horror punk and many other genres are so blurred that gothic punk cannot really be clearly defined. It was then lost in the many musical genres and only celebrated a comeback at the beginning of the 2000s.

Bands like Cinema Strange, The Scary Bitches or Bloody Dead and Sexy discovered the old style and brought it back on stage. In the course of this, the subgenre "Batcaver" also developed in the black scene. The proximity to rock can still be heard from time to time, although the old rocker clichés are not an issue. Punk is revered, especially visually. A special feature of Gothic Punk is the sometimes operatic, plaintive singing, which is particularly noticeable in Cinema Strange, for example. Guitars are obligatory and things are slow on stage only exceptionally.
