Linkin Park
Sorry, we couldn't find any matches for your search
Every generation has a band that connects, that leaves something behind through their music, their art. For nu metal fans of the 2000s, that band is Linkin Park.
Linkin Park are a vital part and leading figure of the nu metal and alt rock sound, but in addition to helping popularise a genre, the band meant something. They stood out for their time, staying true to their sound and their message. With incomparable sounds, crossover and rap metal, tracks like Numb and In the End have become bonafide all-time-greats.
The band was at the forefront of the nu metal movement in the early noughties due to its unique sound, where they arguably hit their peak. Their breakout sound on albums like Hybrid Theory saw Platinum sales and multiple Grammy wins and nominations. Linkin Park were on par with the genre greats and can even boast collaborations with Jay-Z and Rick Rubin.
Spurred on by the positive reception of their earlier releases, in 2002, they released the album Meteora which became meteoric. One of the most successful albums in the history of alternative rock, it includes legendary songs, such as Somewhere I Belong and Numb.
The band are still active today, but fans suffered a devastating loss in 2017. Lead singer from the band’s apex, Chester Bennington, died by suicide. A vocal advocate who never shied away from life’s dark truths – through their lyrics and his own personal bravery – Chester spoke candidly about depression. This is why their legacy endures. The band paved a way for a new sound to go mainstream but Linkin Park helped amplify a new voice – a vulnerable one, a rarity in the rock genre.
Even if Chester Bennington is no longer physically with us, his musical legend will live on forever. This is why EMP stock the finest Linkin Park merch around. Our online shop is filled with Linkin Park treasures that any fan would be Numb to pass up on – sorry, dumb to pass up on.
