Known by several names including The Caped Crusader and The Dark Knight, Batman operates in a fictional place called Gotham City. His various sidekicks include his partner Robin and the loyal butler Alfred, who help Batman defeat an assortment of enemies - after all, he’s just a human dressed as a bat and doesn’t have any superpowers!


DC Comics first immortalised this fictional superhero on paper in 1939, but there have also been a few films over the years.
