There are numerous theories about the popular Marvel character Loki. In his early days in particular, he was a clear enemy of the Avengers, but has his attitude changed? After the devastating events in Avengers 3: Infinity War, we were left on the edge of our sets - what will happen next in Endgame for this Marvel favourite?
Loki - The king of practical jokes
His life got off to a tragic start, as his biological father Laufey, the king of the ice giants, wanted him to die shortly after he was born. Consequently he became the adopted son of the Asgardian king Odin, who took him to Asgard after a battle against the army of the ice giants. There, together with his wife Frigga, Odin raised Loki as an Asgardian prince. with the intention of being able to unite the two kingdoms.
Loki grows up believing that he is the son of Odin and thus the brother of Thor. Due to their descent from the ice giants, Tor and Loki look noticeably dissimilar from the outside and their character traits also seem to be fundamentally different. As an adult, Loki is a master of magic and is known as the god of practical jokes. Nevertheless, he always seems to be in the shadow of his charismatic and strong brother Thor, which he finds difficult to deal with.
During a battle against an ice giant in Jotunheim, Loki notices an unusual physical reaction to the attacks and he confronts Odin. Pushed into a corner, Odin admits that he took him with him as a baby after winning a battle in order to guarantee a lasting peace between the warring peoples. The argument resulting from this confession leaves Loki angry and injured. The confession of his adoptive father plunges Loki into a serious identity crisis, in the course of which he projects all his frustration and anger onto his brother Thor.
The rest of Loki's story is all about power, intrigue, manipulation and his great goal to ascend a throne - where he meets some obstacles.
Loki - A master of deception
His special abilities help Loki in his campaign. He is a master of deception, and can create illusions and transform himself into other people. In addition, he can penetrate people's memories and uses it to manipulate them. But his above-average intelligence, combined with his lightning-fast reflexes and great strength, also help him in his struggles. Loki is an excellent hand-to-hand fighter and has quick self-healing powers. You can find out what he does with those abilities and whose side he is really on in the Avenger films!
