by Peter Kupfer (28.09.2010) Zakk Wylde, a man with a resume and discography spanning longer than the length of his hair and band together. “Order of the black” is the bands´ first album since 2006 and marks the first output released since Zakk and Ozzy parted ways after being together for 23 years. The overall blueprint hasn‘t changed much during the years of this band. Now it includes two generic ballads, “Darkest days” and “Time waits for no one”, which are a little bit out of place. Beside the aforementioned songs the rhythms are infectious, the tempo is amazing and the grooves are gripping. Black as a soul the sound is electrified and the record show in an impressive way how Rock can be. “Order of the black” features riffs and pinch harmonics. Also excellent, beside the music itself, is the production. The riffs are gritty, the drums pounding and the solos in the right tune. All this result in a heavy Rock album that sounds both fun and badass. They started this decade with a bang, like they did with the release of “Stronger than death“ 10 years ago.
