A red and blue spider who swings from rooftop to rooftop, a green muscleman, a dancing tree or a wolf-man: This is what fans love about Marvel! The US comic-book publisher Marvel Comics is synonymous with the comic and movie world.
What would the world be like without the Avengers? Without Marvel Comics, there simply wouldn’t be an Avengers story! There wouldn’t be any Spider-Man merch, nor Fantastic Four. No Daredevil fan merch, no X-Men products, and the Ghost Rider would never have existed. What kind of world would that be? One without any action-packed comic books? Even cinema trips or DVD evenings together with Iron Man and Thor would be a no-no. How sad is that?!
So, thank your lucky stars that Marvel was founded in 1939. However, the comic publisher suffered quite a setback between the end of the 1940s and the end of the 1950s. Certain researchers decided to inform parents that comics might be damaging to their children. But of course, it turned out to be completely wrong that these fantasy drawings have any kind of bad influence over children or adults.
Marvel’s Avengers breathe fresh air into the comic world
Marvel’s “The Avengers” brings together a diverse group of superheroes: Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Loki. The 2012 film is based on the “The Avengers” comic books.
The story around the Avengers has excited fans around the world. The organization S.H.I.E.L.D. wants to use the Tesseract as a never-ending energy source. However, they need Loki to help them realise their ambitions. Loki takes control of Hawkeye, and intends to use him as an ally. However, he doesn’t count on the other superheroes stepping into the fray.
Iron Man and Captain America take it upon themselves to thwart Loki’s plan. In the most action-packed, dramatic and impressive way possible, the Avengers manage to beat Loki. With one annoying side-effect: Humanity learns of the existence of the Avengers. In order to let your friends know who they are dealing with, the EMP Online Shop offers all the right Avengers merchandise.
Superhero or baddie: Deadpool
You can’t put a foot wrong with our Deadpool fan merch. Even if it’s not 100% clear to us whether he really is a hero, or just the unfortunate result of an experiment. The character Wade Wilson finds out that he has incurable cancer right after proposing to his girlfriend Vanessa. Life has taken a serious turn for the worse, and he doesn’t want Vanessa to suffer as a result. At the same time, he meets a dubious character who promises to heal him. Although by ‘healing’ he obviously doesn’t mean what Wilson had in mind.
Deadpoolis a masterpiece of satire, and wins lots of points through his black sense of humour. It’s a unique movie, which can’t be compared with any other superhero franchise. Do you agree? Then head over to the EMP Online shop and check out the range of Marvel T-shirts.
